Suzie Pratt and her son, Kmail, caught the attention of the internet after somebody posted a photo of the duo enjoying a full-on seafood feast on an airplane. The two Brooklyn residents, who own a seafood business, were traveling to Las Vegas when people started taking photos of them on the flight, News 12 reported.
“They was just smiling and it was just a lot of positivity, like people was running up taking their photos. We felt like stars,” Kmail Pratt said.
For Suzie, however, flying with seafood is a habit.
“I've never flew without my seafood. I never had a seafood-less flight,” she said. “I would bring seafood into water parks for my daughter’s birthday.”
While social media users questioned how the duo managed to bring crab legs on the plane, the family said TSA allows any food on the flight. There were also those who took issue with the viral photo, describing the mother and son as "ghetto."
“’Ghetto’ was disturbing to me, because nothing about me and my son was ghetto,” Suzie said. “We take pride in being classy. And it was more of classy thing than anything because I wasn't even in first class and I turned coach to first class.”
The mother and son said they are determined to continue growing their business and to someday cook for Wendy Williams.
“I love making seafood, the flavor, the fun…it brings out the happiness in everybody,” Suzie said.
Some social media users said they would have been disturbed by the smell of seafood on the flight.
There is zero self awareness here. They own a seafood joint. They know how powerful the smell is of seafood boils and you brought one into a metal tube in the sky. This was dumb and disrespectful to everyone around them.

I'm glad they're happy, but I just keep thinking about how that must smell a few hrs later.

Others were just envious and they weren't afraid to admit it.
I would have been mad as hell if I was sitting near her. Only because I didn’t think of it first.

There were also a few people who were worried about passengers who may have shellfish allergies.
I would have sued the airline if I had a shellfish allergie. All that seafood in the recycled air can’t be good. As soon as I smelled it I would have started twitching just to get a refund on that flight.
