Here we are just minding our business on this lovely Friday when an image crosses our Twitter timelines that makes us stop and shake our head in confusion.
Are those five cable nooses?
Subscribers continue to ditch traditional pay-TV at record numbers https://t.co/ELPNDfhXhL

Variety tweeted an article about subscribers switching from traditional pay-TV, and we can see the "humor" they were aiming for, but come on now. You guys couldn't possibly have thought this was a good idea. The image was unnecessary and can be triggering for many people in Variety's audience.
We know we aren't the only ones confused because many people on Twitter were taken aback by the tweet.
Okay. So. White privilege is using an entirely unrelated image to communicate a point that CLEARLY triggers/sends a message to an audience https://t.co/fzwVOXTRvo

Do y'all just not care that this is not a good look? Who okayed this? Cause we, and the rest of Twitter, need some answers.
Variety or the editor has yet to release a statement or take down the disgusting image. We'll be watching closely as this story unfolds.
What do y'all think? Are we tripping, or was this a horrible idea? Do you know what they were trying to communicate? Let us know in the comments below.
