NBA player Andre Drummond is being hailed the father of the year after saving his 2-year-old son from drowning in a backyard pool.
In a video captured by the NBA star’s Ring camera, his son, Deon King Drummond, is seen sitting on the edge of the pool. That’s when the toddler fell face-first into the water as he tried to reposition himself. Within a split second, the 28-year-old propelled himself into the pool in order to save his son’s life, TMZ reported.
The Philadelphia 76ers player took to Twitter to recount the frightening moment and said, “Not all heroes wear capes. A parents worst nightmare….Feat my son & I.”

The toddler’s mother, Abigail Russo, also took to social media to share the video, saying, “them father instincts kicked In quick,” Sports Illustrated reported.
Some fans took to Twitter and said it was a good thing that the NBA star was present and sprung into action rather quickly.
This happens more then you think, unfortunately the outcomes are not so good.
In reality this is good parenting. The child is being supervised by his parents who are not distracted but aware where their child is.
I give this a big A+????????Good job @AndreDrummond and family.

Although some have criticized the NBA player for allowing his son to sit too close to the edge, Drummond made it clear that no one was injured.
