What year are we living in?

The website has since changed the name of the item.

People were appalled that such a major retailer would allow something so degrading and racist to slip beneath the cracks.

Some believed that, in this day and age, the image had to be fake. However, the screenshot was in fact not Photoshopped. The archive to the original item listing can be viewed here.

The Twitterverse is in a rage about the posting:

According to the New York Post, the Walmart has said that product is by a third-party vendor.

Walmart not only changed the description on the website but also replaced the "Add To Cart" button with a message that the producer was no longer available.

“While we aim to provide accurate product information, it is provided by manufacturers, suppliers, and others, and has not been verified by us,” a disclaimer provided below the product read.

A Walmart spokeswoman, Danit Marquardt, released a statement to that gave the company's explanation for what happened. “We are very sorry and appalled that this third party seller listed their item with this description on our online marketplace. It is a clear violation of our policy and has been removed, and we are investigating the seller to determine how this could have happened.”

Whether angered Americans will accept Walmart's apology remains to be seen.
