Well-made short film from Anthony Onah, who happens to be Julius Onah’s twin-brother – Julius being the director of The Girls Is In Trouble (staring Columbus Short), and who was recently tapped by J.J. Abrams to helm the upcoming sci-fi thriller God Particle.

nullClearly some talent in this family, as both young filmmakers seem poised for bright futures ahead, with Julius already well on his way.

Earlier this month, Anthony won the top prize ($25,000) in his category at the Afrinolly Short Film Competition, for a short titled Dara Ju. The below film isn’t Dara Ju, but a previous work by Anthony that he made for the Stolen Dreams Short Film Competition, presented by non-profit Divided We Fail

Titled The Cure, the film follows a single mother’s healthcare struggles after a freak accident puts her son in the hospital.

The Cure won the AARP Grand Prize, selected by an industry panel including Stephen Bochco, Curtis Hanson, and Reginald Hudlin. Anthony  was awarded $7500 and the film became part of AARP’s national campaign for affordable health care and financial security.
