A project that was announced back in July 2010, and that we’ve been covering since; It’s called Life In A Day, produced by Sir Ridley Scott, and directed Kevin Macdonald in what they called a historic global experiment to create the world’s largest user-generated feature film: a documentary, shot in a single day, by YOU.
On July 24, 2010, regular folks all over the world were given 24 hours to capture a glimpse of a day in their lives, on camera. The most compelling and distinctive footage was then selected and edited into an experimental documentary film, executive produced by Ridley Scott and directed by Kevin Macdonald.
Of the more than 80,000 clips submitted, 1,125 made it into the final film. Maybe YOURS was one of them???
The finished 90-minute film had its world premiere screening at the 2011 Sundance Film Festival, and was followed by a limited theatrical release over the summer, courtesy of National Geographic Entertainment, accompanied by some good reviews.
It’s now finally coming back home to where it all started, on YouTube, where you can watch it in its entirety, for FREE!
