To say that Winnie, the Winnie Mandela bio-pic starring Jennifer Hudson in the lead role and Terrence Howard as Nelson, has been a "troubled" production is putting it mildly.
After the film got a less than enthusiastic repsonse at the 2010 Toronto Film Festival and much criticism over the casting choices, there were some changes made, and among them, as reported HERE last month, T.D. Jakes and his film company TDJ Enterprises/Film Bridge International came on board to help develop a marketing and distribution strategy for the film.
Finally after two years of delays, the film is now scheduled to be released this fall, and a new trailer, with new "inspirational" music, has been released.
Take a look. BUT WARNING: It's one of those trailers that tells you the ENTIRE film (evidently made for people in their 20's who have NO idea who the Mandelas are).
After watching it, I really don't need to see the film now.
