Nice! I think it’s safe to say that many of you were just as excited as I was, when the 1st 1-minute teaser for the upcoming animated feature called Soul Man, was posted about 6 months ago on the old S&A site.
Well… you’ll probably love this brand new longer teaser trailer just as much, which was unveiled just a few hours ago.
A quick recap, if you’re just joining us on this…
Little info was available at the time of that first entry many months ago, but an email from the film’s producer, Emilien Dessons, shortly thereafter, filled in some holes.
First, the official synopsis for the film reads: “Set in an alternate world built on two levels, “Soul Man” turns on a former Polish detective entangled in a shady multi-billion-dollar biotech deal — the key to which is a baby girl the detective is asked to look after.“
Its a feature-length film with a budget of 35 Million Euros or ($48.5 million); it’s created by Frenchman Guillaume Ivernel, and his Paris-based production house, Blacklight Movies; about 6 minutes of it was screened at Cartoon Movie, the European Cartoon Symposium, back in March, and the response was strong; it’s being billed as “Blade Runner meets Blaxploitation.”
It’s still very much in development right now, with a 2014 release date planned! So, we still have another 3 years to wait for this. Talk about an early tease, right?!
Further, Monsieur Dessons, the producer, said that an 8-minute preview will be revealed later; how much later, I don’t know. We’ll just have to wait and see…
Lastly, this baby will be in 3D!
Alright, so there ya go! We’ve got 3 long years to wait for the finished film… but an 8-minute preview is imminent, which should tell us a whole lot more… I hope.
