Admittedly, when I first saw this trailer, I thought it was a spoof. Maybe something from "Jimmy Kimmel Live." But it’s for real alright.
And for those of you out there waiting for the long delayed film by John Singleton, here’s your chance to finally see a film about Tupac.
Then again, maybe you won’t want to, after seeing this trailer.
Unfortunately, I can’t tell you much about it. There’s precious little info to go on (even IMDB.con has nothing). All there is, is that it’s definitely a Chinese film, the lead actor playing Tupac goes by the name of Tsalta Baptiste from California (who posted the trailer online), and that’s it’s currently in post-production and scheduled to be released in China early next year.
Also we know that the film follows a young Chinese hip-hop enthusiast and student, whose life is changed when he’s required to study the American Civil Rights movement and black political activism, and he chooses Tupac as his subject.
Who wrote and directed it is a mystery so far.
So with that, enjoy. The trailer speaks for itself, but keep in mind that this may be the only film ever to be made about Tupac, so you gotta take what you can get.
