Houston's own Mike Jones has expanded beyond making hits. He is now a certified businessman with a profitable construction company.

Known for his early 2000s hits "Back Then" and "Still Trippin" from his double-platinum album Who Is Mike Jones?,  he announced on Instagram that his Jones & Carrington Construction company will build a gated community of 50 homes on 23 acres of land.

“Me & Building Buddies / Next Project: Jones Carrington Estates … 50 homes on 23 acres,” he wrote in an Aug. 17 post.

The rapper has dropped hints of the project since May and has gradually given his fans an update on the project's progress.

This is just one of Jones' many ventures. He has his own line of cognac called House of Dobbe and he has given back to the community through his Ice Age for Kids and The American Dream Foundation.
