A recent video has surfaced of the moments before a white Pittsburgh man killed 24-year-old Dulane Cameron.
In the footage, a belligerent and shirtless Joden Rocco boasts about a game he and his friends created where they play with racist remarks.
“We’re playing a game,” Rocco said in the video. “How many times we can say n****r to the bartender before we get kicked out.”
On the night of the hate crime, Rocco was shirtless for an unknown reason and denied entry to the Little Red Corvette Bar, CBS Pittsburgh reported. After being rejected, Rocco walked down North Shore Drive when he came across Cameron. Rocco aggressively bounced on his feet and made his final attack, murdering Cameron.
“He was not doing anything to anybody, he didn’t make anybody mad or anything,” the victim’s grandmother, Barbara Cameron, told CBS Pittsburgh. “He got killed because he was black.”
After stabbing Cameron, Rocco continued on and eventually asked a nearby officer for a ride home.
Repeat: Rocco stabbed a man and then voluntarily approached a police officer to ask for a ride home as if the city runs a ride service for racists needing a getaway.
By then, officers had received notice of Rocco’s description and were able to take him in. He is now in police custody awaiting a preliminary hearing on August 31 for homicide charges, the Post-Gazette reported.
