While the black community is still grappling with the effects of the war on drugs, Demi Lovato’s alleged drug dealer is giving interviews.

Brandon Johnson showed his whole face when he told TMZ he gave her the drugs which almost took her life. He claimed Lovato was responsible for her overdose.

“I disclosed to her that [the pills] were not pharmaceutical … they’re much stronger,” he claimed. “She understood fully. It’s unfortunate what happened, but for [anyone] to think there was any misconception is absolutely ridiculous.”

Johnson eventually expressed hope for the “Sorry Not Sorry” singer’s recovery.

“It’s definitely a wakeup call for her obviously, and for me it definitely opens my eyes to the dangers of these drugs,” Johnson said. “I hate to hurt anybody, I’m not trying to hurt my friend. She’s a really good friend of mine. I care for her a lot. I hope she comes out of this better than she went into it,” he said.

Lovato was hospitalized after she overdosed in late July inciting an outpouring of support from fans and others rooting for the singer's health and wellness. She is currently in rehab, according to Page Six.

Following Johnson's interview, Twitter was quick to call out the reality that a black drug supplier would rarely ever be given the opportunity to, much less have the nerve to, go on television discussing their illegitimate means of earning income and how it almost led to the death of a public figure.
