Kenneth Bailey, better known as rapper Young Scooter, died Friday night after a fight broke out with multiple people inside a house in Atlanta. The medical examiner’s office reported that the 39-year-old artist died after being taken to the hospital.

According to 11 Alive, police said Young Scooter was injured after shots were fired inside the Atlanta house. Reports also indicated that a woman in the home was dragged inside amid the chaos.

What happened inside the home where Young Scooter was shot?

“Once officers arrived they knocked on the door. A male opened the door and immediately shut the door on the officers,” Lt. Andrew Smith told 11 Alive.

Two men also escaped through the back of the house as police arrived, Smith said.

“One male returned back into the house. The other male jumped two fences as he was fleeing,” Smith said. “When officers located him on the other side of the fence, he appeared to have suffered an injury to his leg.”

The injured man was taken to the hospital, where he died, according to Smith.

“Just to be very clear, the injury that was sustained was not via the officers on scene. It was when the male was fleeing,” Smith said, adding that the man injured himself when he fell and started bleeding.

The woman who was dragged into the house has not been located, Smith added.

Although police didn’t confirm the identity of the man who died, the medical examiner’s office reported that Bailey died as a result of the disturbance that unfolded at the house. However, the specific cause of death has not yet been identified.
