Do y’all remember the legendary tv show “Cousin Skeeter”? Because I vaguely do. With National Cousins Day coming up on July 24th, a tribute to Cousin Skeeter was inevitable. As a girl born in 1996, I was only five years old when the show went off the air in 2001. With that said, Cousin Skeeter has made a lasting impact on my life. Let’s take some time to remember our Cousin Skeeter.

  1. Cousin Skeeter kept it real. He was invited to live with his Aunt and Uncle and their son Bobby in NYC, with the intention for him to be a good role model for Bobby. Skeeter turned out to be a bit rude, and therefore not the best influence but he regardless was always there for his cousin.

  1. The show’s theme song set to the tune of “Steelo” by 702 was actually amazing. I may or may not have the song in my iTunes library…….                                                                      Photo: Giphy

  1. Skeeter was a ride or die. If Bobby when he needed a hand or a hype man, he was right there.

  1. Skeeter was always about that hustle. Skeeter knew how to make that money, and wasn’t afraid to get his hands a little dirty.

  1. Skeeter’s friend Nicole, the female puppet, was also a great friend. Also, Nicole was played by Tisha Campbell-Martin?!  Did you know the cast was that star-studded?!

  1. Meagan Good as Nina Walker was a gem in this show. She had killer style and everyone wanted her to be their girl.

  1. Raven and Cory who??!! Long before actor Rondell Sheridan played Mr. Baxter in "That's so Raven" he was known as Mr. Walker; a great man. A fantastic father to Bobby and an amazing uncle to Skeeter.

  1. Celebrity appearances out the hat. Left eye. Kenan and Kel. Christina Milian, Usher, Sandra Oh, Shaquille O’Neal?! This show was never boring.

  1. Skeeter was the goofball cousin whose character we can all relate to. If you don't think you have a cousin like this-look again. You probably do.                                                                Photo: 90sKindofWorld
