2 Chainz And Brittany Renner Want You To Drop Your Main For A 'Side Chik' In New Campaign

Adding a "Side Chik" could be a delicious idea, in this instance.

Who says being a side chick can’t pay off?

Social media influencer Brittany Renner has cashed in as the face of Krystal restaurant’s “Side Chik” chicken sandwich campaign. Under the direction of their new Creative Marketing Director, 2 Chainz, the campaign pokes fun at Renner’s not-so-squeaky-clean relationship history.

2 Chainz and the restaurant chain are encouraging everyone to not ditch their main chicken sandwich but just add a Side Chik.

2 Chainz spoke on his vision in a press release, stating, “At Krystal, we are here to disrupt the QSR landscape and are excited to be working with Brittany Renner as she has a pulse on the culture.” The rapper continued, “We know everyone has a favorite already, so instead of fighting to be your go-to, we’re happy to be your little something on the side.”

The new menu includes premium, white meat chicken with a bold and crispy crunch. They come in three distinct variations for lunch and dinner: BBQ Bacon Cheese with crispy smoked bacon and tangy BBQ, Pimento Cheese and the Classic, featuring a slather of Duke’s Mayo and pickle. The Side Chik is also available in Classic and Pimento Cheese on a biscuit for breakfast. And like all things Krystal, the sandwiches are small enough that you can go for two or three in one sitting.

Even though we are sure the internet will have its jokes, Renner sees the big picture.

“I’m real, I’m honest, and I’m funny. So I was happy to partner with Krystal since they’re a brand willing to be all those same things.” Renner said in the Krystal press release. “We are combining food, fun, and culture into one big moment for this staple establishment. Get ready for some surprises!”

The campaign creatively combines other known attributes of 2 Chainz and Renner.

As reported by Blavity, Renner has had some instances where her reputation with men in the entertainment industry has been questioned. And 2 Chainz is no stranger to the food industry with the success of his restaurant chain, Esco Restaurant and Tapas.

Krystal, the South’s original quick-service restaurant chain, is famous for creating delicious indulgences that satisfy any hour of the day. Originally famous for its small, steamed sliders, the brand continues to reinvent its menu while finding new ways to serve up unique and affordable meals and snacks that satisfy in ways other brands can’t.
