It’s been AGES since I actually watched anything on MTV; I remember the days when it was programmed into my cable TV remote control as one of my "favorite channels," so that while channel surfing, I wouldn’t skip over it. I remember when MTV was a cable TV network king! Is it still? I’m older now, and out of touch with what the kids are into these days, so I don’t want to assume that it’s a relic of a network whose days of prominence as a breaker of new ground are behind it, because I’m sure some of you all still watch it, and will be watching the 2015 MTV Movie Awards, when it airs, live, on Sunday, April 12, at 8pm.

Of note, of interest to this blog, "Selma" is nominated for Movie of the Year," although David Oyelowo isn’t nominated for Best Male Performance, which is a head-scratcher, considering that Chris Pratt is nominated in that category for his performance in "Guardians of the Galaxy." But it’s the MTV Movie Awards, right?
Oyelowo is nominated for Breakout Performance, however.
