Another piece of 2Pac's legacy is up for sale. Handwritten liner notes from Pac’s 1996 album The Don Killuminati: The 7 Day Theory are up for auction for the first time.
According to Genius, the auction house selling the notes received them from a close, unnamed family member. The controversial artifact featured some hot and piping heat from Pac's pen blasting several high-profile rappers from the 1990s.
While referencing the 1994 shooting in the lobby of Quad Recording Studios in Manhattan, Tupac called out Biggie, Diddy, Jimmy Henchman and more for “remain[ing] silent while quietly conspiring my downfall.”
Then, he went after Dr. Dre claiming that the legendary West Coast rapper was a “closeted homo.” In the letter, Pac had a few words for Mobb Deep and De La Soul over record sales.
JAY-Z, Nas, Lil' Kim, Jimmy Henchman and Faith Evans were also mentioned.
The liner notes made their way into the album. Mobb Deep, Nas and others were called out in the intro on “Bomb First (My Second Reply).”
"Nas, the alleged ring leader, is furious at 2Pac’s – excuse me – Makaveli’s verbal assault on Mobb Sleep, Notorious P.I.G., and several other New York rappers. Jay-Z from 'Hawaiian Sophie' fame, Big Little whatever, and several other corny-sounding motherf*****s are understandably shaken up by this release."
Pac questioned Dre’s sexuality on “Toss It Up.”
"No longer Dre Day: arrivederci Blown and forgotten, rotten for plotting Child’s Play Check your sexuality, as fruity as this Alize Quick to jump ship, punk trick, what a dumb move Cross Death Row, now who you gonna run to?"
Finally, Pac attacks Jimmy Henchman on “Against All Odds.”
"And did I mention? Promised to payback, Jimmy Henchman, in due time I know you b***h n****s is listenin', the world is mine Set me up, wet me up, n****s stuck me up Heard the guns bust, but you tricks never shut me up."
Gottahaverockandroll.com currently has the notes selling for $30,000 at a minimum, and the asking bids range from $40,000 to $50,000.
