Three people have been charged with the death of Le’Shonte Jones, a 24-year-old TSA agent who was killed in front of her 3-year-old daughter who also sustained injuries during the shooting. Romiel Robinson, Javon Carter and Jasmine Martinez were each arrested last week. Martinez, who was picked up in Port St. Lucie, Florida, on Friday and is awaiting extradition, is said to have had multiple violent run-ins with Jones. Carter, who is the suspected shooter, was arrested in Miami-Dade.

People reports Robinson and Carter are expected to appear for their arraignment on Feb. 24.

According to the Miami Herald, prosecutors plan to seek a grand jury indictment for all three on the murder charge. Jones was fatally shot almost nine months ago in May 2021 outside of the Coral Bay Cove apartments just after finishing her shift at Miami International Airport.

"My daughter was taken away from me for a very senseless act," Jones' mother, Darlene Dukes, said during a news conference last year, per NBC Miami. "She didn't deserve to be taken away from me, her siblings, her friends, her cousins and especially from her daughter."

Martinez was allegedly violent against Jones on numerous occasions.

Police began looking into Martinez after Jones was the victim of a robbery that Martinez was allegedly a part of. Court records obtained by the Herald show Martinez was arrested for battery in 2016 after she allegedly hit Jones, who was dating one of Martinez's ex-boyfriends at the time. However, the case wasn't prosecuted.

Martinez was arrested again in 2018 in connection to a physical attack on Jones. Jones was killed just a month after appearing in court for a deposition against Martinez's boyfriend and another woman.

“We never stop working to bring justice to the families of those that can no longer be heard,” Miami-Dade Police Director Alfredo Ramirez III tweeted about the incident.

Dukes detailed how badly Jones' daughter wants for police to find the culprits.

In October, prior to the arrests, Dukes previously told Local 10 News that Jones' daughter cries out for her mother and hopes the police catch the "bad guy" who gunned down her mother.

“Every day she talks about the bad guy: What she wants done to the bad guy, why the bad guy won’t let the police get him, why the bad guy did that to my mommy,” Dukes said.

Jones' mother continued, adding that her grieving process, at that point, had been "the worst six months I have ever had to endure in my years of living."

Dukes, who's been caring for her granddaughter, said the toddler has taken to kissing the angel pendant on Dukes' necklace.

“This little thing on my neck, every chance she gets, ‘Nana let me kiss my mama,’” Dukes said.
