Update (Jan. 11, 2022): Basketball star Dylan Gonzalez posted a statement on Twitter about Trey Songz, saying she's been "forced to relive in my mind, and suffer anew, the long-suppressed horror and unbearable PTSD of my rape by his very hands at a well known Las Vegas Hotel."

The statement comes after she previously accused the singer of being a rapist. In her message shared just before the new year, Gonzalez referred to Songz as a rapist but refrained from saying if she had been sexually assaulted by him, as Blavity previously reported.

In her post shared on Tuesday, she expressed her support for survivors of sexual abuse and requested for privacy as she pursues "the best course of action and all of my legal options."

"I stand with you and encourage all those who have suffered abuse to speak out and come forward. suppression of our voices only emboldens our oppressors, and you cannot heal what you do not reveal," she said. 

Original (Jan. 4, 2022): Trey Songz came under fire just before the start of 2022 when he was accused, again, of sexual misconduct — this time, by former University of Nevada, Las Vegas women’s basketball player Dylan Gonzalez. Gonzalez shook social media with a short tweet aimed at the R&B star. 

“Trey Songz is a rapist,” she wrote. “Lord forgive me I Couldn’t hold that in another year. See you in 2022.”

The athlete turned music artist didn’t share any details about the allegation, nor did she say if she was involved in a sexual interaction with him. However, her statement joins a string of cases and accusations levied against the “Can’t Help but Wait” singer by women. 

1. 2012 assault case

Songz, born Tremaine Neverson, caught a misdemeanor assault and harassment charge in Sept. 2012 after a woman named Donna Mcintosh-Inoe said he gave her a black eye after throwing a wad of money in her face at a Queens strip club. 

According to the New York Daily News, the singer hosted an album release party at Club Perfection when McIntosh-Inoe became excited and snapped a picture of the singer in his VIP section, at which point she said he tried to grab her phone and delete the photo. After his attempts failed, he allegedly threw a collection of cash at her, hitting her on the head. 

"It was insulting that he just threw something," she told the outlet. "He was verbally disrespectful as well. … He embarrassed me in front of everyone in the club."

2. 2017 sexual intimidation accusation

Keke Palmer came forward during her interview with the Breakfast Club in 2017 to accuse the singer of sexual intimidation. The actress recounted an incident in which she resorted to hiding in a closet from the singer after he allegedly tricked her into appearing in his music video and attempted to coerce her with unwanted sexual intimidation. When asked by the hosts if the situation could’ve been a misunderstanding, she firmly denied the idea. 

"It wasn't a misunderstanding. I tell my truth and I just thought it was interesting that after all those things went down, someone else had something to say," she said, noting that she and the singer never made up after the situation.

3. 2018 domestic violence case

He faced a separate case in 2018 when another woman, Amber Buera, came forward to say the singer physically assaulted her during an All-Star weekend party in the Hollywood Hills. According to Complex, Buera’s legal team alleged that Trey Songz "called [Buera] names, choked her, and repeatedly punched her in the face” after she supposedly began talking to one of her friends at the party. 

The singer denied the allegations at the time, but Buera’s lawyer Lisa Bloom argued in interviews that Songz had a “long, sad history” of getting violent with women. 

Buera’s case was dismissed with prejudice in 2019 after she dismissed the charges against him. 

4. 2020 $10 million lawsuit

A woman, who’s only been identified as “Jane Doe,” filed a $10 million lawsuit against the singer in 2020. According to The Daily Beast, the Georgia woman accused Trey of “[placing] his hand under her dress, without her consent, and attempting to insert his fingers into JANE DOE’S vagina without her consent or permission” at a Miami nightclub on Jan. 1, 2018. Doe alleged at the time that another woman also told her that he’d put his hands down her pants that night.

5. 2020 sexual assault and misconduct allegations

During an episode of the No Jumper podcast in 2020, Instagram model Celina Powell's friend Aliza accused Songz of urinating on her without prior consent during an interaction. She also alleged that the singer threatened to destroy their belongings if they left his place of residence. 

Songz denied the allegations again in a series of tweets. 

"I usually stay quiet on this but I feel that in many ways the movement to fight for the women who actually have suffered harassment and abuse on various levels, has been hijacked by those who find it convenient for themselves to come up as they seek to destroy someone's life," he said at the time.

He also called out the Jane Doe case, implying that the girl involved wanted to extort him for therapy costs and to cover her school's tuition. 

"You will choose [to] believe what you want," he said. "I've been focusing my energy and time on good things and I know the Devil wants my soul more now than ever."
