If you’re active on social media, chances are you’ve scrolled through something posted by or about Doja Cat. The rapper’s songs are constantly used as the background tune in videos, and Doja’s name trends weekly across all platforms. The “Streets” artist accelerated to fame in 2018, and with every new release, Doja’s fanbase aggressively grows.

It’s also equally refreshing to see how down-to-earth she is. Whether stitching her TikToks to another user’s with a hilarious response to checking those who make inaccurate claims about her body, here are five times we couldn’t help but stan Ms. Doja.

1. Her social media pages bring endless laughs.

Social media can often feel like a carefully curated glimpse into someone’s life, yet conveniently misses any real personality. Doja is the opposite of that, which is quite refreshing to see from a global superstar. Whether it be on Instagram or TikTok, fans are treated to the glamour shots of the L.A. native with a sprinkling of candids and at-home shots.

2. Doja's visuals continue to raise the bar.

If done correctly, music videos can take our breath away. After all, you probably know exactly where you were when Bey’s “Crazy in Love” video dropped in May 2003, and 13 years later when she treated us to her second visual album, Lemonade.

Eagerly waiting for a Doja Cat visual feels the same. From her first “Mooo!” video to the intergalactic rescue mission that was last year’s “Get Into It (Yuh),” you can always expect something out of the ordinary.

3. When it comes to paid sponsorships, the creativity is unmatched.

Ad an Instagram post here, perhaps a billboard there. Becoming the face of a brand is a natural step in the progression of an entertainer’s career. There’s something different about the way Doja announces her partnerships in a major campaign that continues to impress.

Take, for example, the Pepsi spot that dropped last September. Doja reimagined the final number in the classic musical Grease, famously sung by Olivia Newton-John and John Travolta. This time, however, it features a different melody, and instead of taking place at a carnival, the Billboard chart-topper sings to her muse in a crowded parking lot.

Another fun announcement as the face of an audio brand came ahead of her Grammy-winning night. For the first of two looks, Doja rocked a powder blue JBL speaker that matched her gown, shoes and accessories.

4. She's always looking out for her fans, even mid-show.

During her Lollapalooza Argentina performance on March 19, Doja noticed something strange in the audience. According to People, an audience member required help.

“Wait, wait, wait! Somebody needs help over there,” she told the large crowd. “Is that right? Am I right? Somebody needs help? I love you guys, I really do, but we can’t have that happening,” the “Best Friend” rapper said.

She continued: “I’m sorry, I can’t keep going if things aren’t good. I want to ask you guys a question. Does it matter that everybody here gets home safe? Right? Make noise if everybody who needs to get home safe needs to get home safe. Then you’re on my side, right? That’s all that matters.”

After being given the clear that the incident had been resolved, Doja proceeded on with her set.

5. Doja will forever defend her name and the reputation of fellow rappers.

If you’re not cutting her a check, singing her praises or handing her an award, it’s probably best to keep Doja’s name out of your mouth.

Back in February, the songwriter denied claims via Instagram Live she had undergone plastic surgery. YouTuber Lorry Hill struck first with a video insinuating the 26-year-old enhanced her body. In the same breath, Doja defended fellow rap queen Megan Thee Stallion.

Per Insider: “It’s about this b***h, Lorry Hill, talking about people’s bodies, talking about people’s surgery,” Doja said. “You’re done and your whole s**t is f****d up and if I could tear your whole empire down I would.”

Hill, whose YouTube page tries to erase the negative stigma of plastic surgery, eventually took down the video and followed up with an apology to Doja on her community page.

“It was brought to my attention that Doja Cat has seen my video where I shared my opinion on possible procedures she may have had,” Hill wrote. “She expressed that she felt hurt by the video and since it is never my intention to hurt anyone I have taken the video down without hesitation.”

Over the last several years, watching Doja Cat’s ascension to stardom while remaining true to herself has been fun. We hope she walks back on her intent to quit music after fulfilling her current obligations, but we’ll nonetheless stan in whatever endeavor she takes on next.
