Remember that feeling you get when you randomly find $10.00 in your back pocket? Well, rapper Curtis Jackson, aka 50 Cent just stumbled upon roughly 7 Million dollars from an investment he said he "forgot about."  

50 cent invested in bitcoin back in 2014–way before it gained popularity. According to TMZ, he was the first rapper to accept bitcoin as payment for his "Animal Ambition" album. At the time bitcoin was worth $662/bitcoin. This cryptocurrency sat untouched for years and accumulated over time. 

"Not Bad for a kid from the South Side, I'm so proud of me," 50 Cent said. 

Bitcoin value fluctuates daily. As of now, a bitcoin is worth more than $11,000. Last month, it reached $20,000.

An early investment and forgetfulness has certainly paid off for the hip hop artist. The rapper's financial status has been reported on over the last few years. In 2016, Blavity reported that he filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection. With this newfound wealth, perhaps his situation has changed.
