Whether we believe it or not, we all have the power to manifest our deepest and innermost desires in the palm of our hands. Manifestation is a centuries-old philosophy that allows us to tap into our inner magicians by claiming the life we know we deserve, and in this case, we’ve seen manifestation take form firsthand with a plethora of celebrities who once dreamt of achieving the success they currently have. From Megan Thee Stallion to Bubba Wallace, these celebrity trailblazers are leaving a lasting mark on all of the dreamers out there.

Megan Thee Stallion

What all started as a dream to Rap in 2013, later resulted in the extremely successful career of Tina Snow, aka Megan Thee Stallion. Known as one of the best Black female rappers in the world, Megan wanted more than just a seat at the table. The 27-year-old music mogul’s start to fame began in 2016 after she participated in a freestyle cipher with local Houston rappers. Shortly after the release of her 2016 mixtape, Rich Ratchet, 2017 EP, Make it Hot and her 2018 EP, Tina Snow, which landed on Billboard’s hot 100 hits, her mother saw an insurmountable amount of potential for Megan but wanted her to finish school and get her degree before focusing on rap full time. Having served as a manager to the rising star for a few years, Megan’s mother helped her navigate the whirlpool of success she had been receiving until 2019, when she, unfortunately, passed away due to a cancerous brain tumor. In addition to the death of Megan’s mother, she also lost her grandmother shortly after.

Despite the many trials and tribulations the Houston native had undergone, she still decided to push through and dream a bigger dream. Megan has since received several accolades for her rap career, including six BET awards, five BET Hip-Hop awards, three Grammy’s and a Billboard Women in Music Award, to name a few.

Issa Rae

Let’s be real, awkward Black women weren't fully accepted until the release of Issa Rae’s Insecure, and with good reason. After graduating from Stanford University in 2007 with a major in African and African American studies, Issa created and starred in the popular YouTube series, The Mis-Adventures of Awkward Black Girl. In an interview with Glamour, Rae recalls her journey to success as something you just go for, which resulted in the worldwide success of the hit TV show. “There was no blueprint to do this. There was no one I could look to,  to be like, ‘Oh, so-and-so made some videos and then had a television show, and then did movies,’” she says. “You kind of just do it.”

Rae disclosed that there was no blueprint to her journey, and unlike seeing many of her friends freshly out of college become nurses, doctors and lawyers, she ultimately learned that working hard for your true passions is one of the best ways to attract limitless success.

Leonard Fournette

NFL running back Leonard Fournette saw a vision in mind to become one of the best running back players in the industry. From signing with Louisiana State University in 2014 to later pivoting his career with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Fourtnette seamlessly charted his way to the top of the ladder despite what he deemed a slow start in the beginning. Having served as a critical contributor in Tampa’s Super Bowl win last year, Fourtnette has seamlessly dominated the world of football with a clear vision that speaks abundance, fortitude and prosperity to attain your dreams.

Matthew A. Cherry

The 40-year-old film director tweeted in 2012 that he would one day win an Oscar, and nine years later that dream came true after the filmmaker received an Oscar for Best Animated Short Series for Hair LoveWhat once began as a career in football, later resulted in a love of film as Matthew A. Cherry wanted to pursue a more creative path within the entertainment industry. In 2007, Matthew retired from football and moved to L.A. as a production assistant for commercials and music videos. His career took off after assisting on the hit TV show Girlfriends and the third season of the NBC TV series Heroes

Diamond DeShields

WNBA player Diamond DeShields claimed her name to fame after winning the WNBA title with Chicago Sky in October. The 26-year-old guard was drafted during Sky’s 2018 WNBA draft and now plays with Pheonix Mercury as a 6-foot-1-guard. Homing in on the mantra, “Mind the business that pays you,” DeShields is seamlessly following this advice by living out her desires as one of the industry’s best professional ballplayers.

Bubba Wallace

What started with a dream of race car driving at 9-years-old, later turned into becoming one of the most notable race car drivers in the world. Bubba Wallace’s career launched shortly after receiving sponsorship from his father, Darrell Sr. during his early competing days.

As Wallace started to climb the professional ladder within professional race car driving, he eventually joined NASCAR in 2017 after announcing his departure from Richard Petty Motorsports. Aside from his unspoken talent, Wallace began to garner more attention after discussing racism in and out of the industry — and despite the critics, he always stayed true to his outspoken vision. After Tweeting that he dreamt of racing a nationwide series in 2014, Bubba became one of the world’s most notable Black race car drivers in the profession.

Manifestation all lies in the power of our belief system, and for us to live our best lives, we have to believe we're worthy and deserving of all that’s meant for us. By looking at those who walked to let us fly, we can further decide to take matters into our own hands by becoming the main characters of our own lives.
