Spice up your Soundcloud vibes with some amazing audio from these 7 ladies.

1. Eryn Allen Kane

I listened in disbelief at her crisp, sharp and otherworldly harmonies for the duration of her two part EP series, entitled Aviary, which is split into two parts. Her strong, soulful voice is something that you don’t just hear, you experience it. It is the purest form of religion upon Earth. Have mercy, indeed.

2. Ravyn Lenae

Ravyn Lenae’s strength lies in her staccato delivery and Jill Scott reminiscent way of telling stories in song. Lenae has fallen in with the growing indie powerhouse of good music, Soulection, as Monte Booker produced almost every song for the Chicago based songstress on her most recent EP, Moon Shoes.

3. Daryn Alexis

Daryn Alexis has a sound that is a mixture of Beyonce and Macy Gray, and as eclectic as that sounds, once you hear her music, the comparison will probably make more sense. Blending soul, pop, funk and rock the D.C. native definitely lives up to the name of her most recent EP, The Wildflower Series.

4. Lion Babe

This NYC Neo-Soul artist has a decided Erykah Badu flavor to her music, as clearly evidenced in her self titled EP which features a cameo appearance from Childish Gambino. The rhythms are funky and upbeat which might cause you to shimmy uncontrollably, but if your tastes are similar to mine, you’ll love her music.

5. Eden Myrrh

A South African Neo-Soul artist who also writes and produces her own music, Eden Myrrh’s debut EP Chronicles of a Dreamer introduces us to an experimental artist, as she plays with electronic elements, hip-hop elements, dance elements, and several world genres to create something new. Her voice is smooth, yet powerful, showcased in several particularly strong vocal arrangements as she explores themes relating to finding and chasing one’s purpose in life over the course of the EP.

6. Lorine Chia

Atlanta based artist Lorine Chia’s EP Ono. Mato. Poeic. is unlike anything you’ve ever heard. Fluidly switching between rapping and a somewhat raspy singing voice while using production which you would assume would be more at home on a Nicki Minaj record than a soul artist, Chia is a one of a kind hybrid of soul and hip hop.

7 V.Bozeman

This LA based singer/actress/model triple threat has a song dedicated to Mike Brown, entitled Race Jones and it is unequivocally the Blackest song I’ve heard in a while. Hell it opens up with the words, “I’m Black” it don’t get no blacker than that. Shades of Nina Simone are all up in and through this joint.
