NBA fans ended their Christmas holiday winding down watching a highly anticipated matchup between the Los Angeles Lakers and the Clippers.
The two franchises share a host city and arena, creating an innate rivalry between the teams.
The Lakers lost to the Clippers in their fourth consecutive loss with a final score of 111 to 106, according to ESPN. However, tensions heightened after halftime as the Clippers pulled ahead with lead scorer Kawhi Leonard.
Another lead scorer, Anthony Davis, had another highlight during the game.
While attempting to shoot what appeared to be a 3-pointer, Davis stumbled into the lap of actor Kevin Hart who was sitting courtside.

Ironically, Hart wore a Santa Claus-inspired leather jacket, creating the perfect reenactment of the movie Elf.
The 6'10" athlete attempted to make the accident memorable as he reached for Hart's phone.
Hart was seen jokingly pushing the athlete off of him as Davis wrapped his arm around the actor just like a kid would do Santa.
The moment sent fans on Twitter into swift action creating side-by-sides of the two and the notable scene from Elf.
I’d totally watch an Elf 2 with Anthony Davis and Kevin Hart. pic.twitter.com/GiGPJJllTw

Lakers forward LeBron James ran over to see what the hype was all about. He sat on the actor's lap as Hart was seen yelling at the tall athletes taking advantage of him.
Despite the hilarious moment by the Lakers, it didn't help them take home the win.
“We just gotta get better,” James said. “And I said that even during the win streaks, the road streaks. For me, you stay even-keeled throughout the whole season no matter what. No matter if you’re losing, you’re winning. Because it’s a marathon and a new narrative can be made the next day.”
Even with the anticipation between the two teams playing it out on the court, the players agreed that the game was minuscule in comparison to the entire season.
"It's a long season," James said. "It's a marathon."
Leonard said his team's victory means "nothing" to the Lakers-Clippers rivalry.
"It's one game out of a season. Whoever won this game was not going to win the L.A. championship or anything. Both teams got their eyes on the biggest prize," Leonard added.
The Lakers still hold one of the best records in the Western Conference even with the consecutive losses. Newcomer to the team Dwight Howard has helped them hold onto one of the top spots.
He also admits their matchup against the Clippers won't have a huge impact on their future on the court.
“The championship is won in June — it’s not won on Christmas,” he said. “This is not an ego test for us. We’re not trying to see who’s better right now. We want to make sure come playoff time that we’re the best team going into the playoffs and at the end of the playoffs that we’re the best team in the world. That’s the goal. That should be our mindset."
