The 2012 film festival beat goes on… it's already mid-April; where did the time go? I feel like I only recently got back from SXSW in Austin, TX, looking forward to relaxing in NYC (where I live) for a few months before jetting off to another festival, which wouldn't be until June, less than 2 months away.

So time to start planning trips again.

And instead of just 1 festival trip as it was in January (Sundance), February (Pan African), and March (SXSW), in June there'll be 2 that I'll likely be attending – first, the Los Angeles Film Festival (which will be Stephanie Allain's first year as director of the festival – I'll get to this in a separate post), from June 14 – 24; and second, the American Black Film Festival (ABFF) in South Beach, FL which I just learned will open its doors on June 20th, and close on the 23rd.

So it should be a busy month for me.

And although it won't announce its lineup until June 1, the ABFF has begun unveiling some of its event highlights… like the one advertised in the poster image above, which I think tells you all you need to know, especially if you've been reading this site in recent months. You really should know the couple in the photo and their recent work.

So I'll shut up now 🙂

But I should be there that day to check this out and hopefully meet them in person finally.
