Demetrius Lewis had many of us laughing after video from local news outlet WSVN showed him shooting his shot at a Florida judge during a hearing.
Lewis, a defendant appearing at a virtual bond court appearance on Thursday in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, took a moment out of his hearing for a bit of levity as he spoke to Judge Tabitha Blackmon.
“Judge, you [are] so gorgeous, so gorgeous judge, I just had to tell you. You’re gorgeous,” Lewis said in video shared by WSVN.

Blackmon flashed a smile and thanked Lewis for his compliment but reminded him that unfortunately, flattery would do little to change the fact that he is charged with attempted burglary of an occupied dwelling. His bail was set at $5,000.
“Thank you Mr. Lewis. Flattery will get you everywhere, but maybe not here,” Blackmon said. "The court finds probably cause on count 1 of an occupied dwelling."
The short clip drew a lot of responses online.

Blackmon was appointed to the Broward County Court by Florida Governor Ron DeSantis in June 2020 after working as a prosecutor for the State Attorney's office since 2017, according to a release from the governor's office.
She was sworn in on July 9 with her husband, two daughters, mother and aunt standing by her side.
During the hearing, prosecutors asked for a $7,500 bail because children were in the home that Lewis was allegedly robbing and because he was previously convicted on aggravated battery with a deadly weapon charges before his release in 2019.
