The internet was immediately up in arms when Claire Lehmann, founder of the far right magazine Quillette, suggested that legendary Black athlete Florence Griffith Joyner died of a drug overdose, citing her acrylic nails as evidence. 

In fact, Joyner, known to the world as "Flo-Jo," died from suffocation due to an seizure, as those close to her were quick to point out. According to the LA Times the athlete had a congenital defect called, cavernous angioma, which can make one prone to seizures.
