The mother of late singer Aaliyah released a statement following the unfortunate passing of DMX, offering her condolences.
On Friday, Diane Haughton wrote on Instagram that she had immense gratitude for her daughter’s former collaborator and good friend.
“Earl, you had and still have a heart of gold,” she said. “You and Baby Girl will meet again with all the beautiful people we have lost. Will never forget your kindness. NEVER! Blessings to your family! Eternally!”
Aaliyah, who tragically died in an airplane crash in 2001, and DMX grew as friends as their careers evolved past their respective music endeavors. They starred in the 2000 action film Romeo Must Die and worked together on the popular song “Back In One Piece.”

"This is the way I will remember him. With friends, having fun, blessing the world. Thankful to @verzuzonline for giving us this opportunity to see him one last time,” a fan tweeted.
