Durags are a key tool in the pursuit of black excellence, having safe guarded our tresses and created luxurious wave patterns for many years. However, there is a craft to perfectly tying a durag, and A$AP Ferg is here to show you the best way to do so–once and for all.

The Harlem rapper recently teamed up with GQ to provide a step-by-step tutorial on how to properly tie a durag. If you don't know, now you'll know.

Having rocked durags since he was 7 or 8 years old, Ferg considers himself an expert. In fact, he's so about that durag life, he donned one on the cover his 2017 mixtape, Still Striving

"I just remember becoming really obsessed with my hair," said Ferg in the GQ video. "That's when I first started getting into grooming myself and actually caring about how people thought what I looked like."

Along with the video, GQ broke down durag application into five simple steps; specifically advising watchers to make sure the inseam is on the outside so you don't get an imprint.

And don't forget that brush!

"The durag is magical when you take it off. That's when the magic happens," Ferg said.

Oh, and remember: there's no country for polyester durags. Silk durags, only. Go forth and prosper, fam.
