ABC has given a full season order to Shonda Rhimes' Scandal, meaning its current second season will add another 9 episodes to the previously ordered 13 episodes, for a total of 22 episodes of the political fixer drama.

Obviously it's doing very well for ABC. The Thursday night drama has grown in audience/ratings from week to week this season, jumping 12% last week, compared to the previous episode, with Women 18-49, to equal the series' 2nd-highest-ever rating.

Recall before the season started, Rhimes stated in an interview that the second season would start with just one season-long arc, and could maybe have 2, if the series was expanded beyond the initial 13-episode order.

"We want to keep telling stories in that manner and because we're doing 13 episodes and if we get more than that, we'll be telling two different season-long arcs… We came back nervous — can we top what we did last season — and now we're all really excited because we figured out how we can."

Scandal fans can rejoice; you'll get an additional 9 hours with Olivia Pope and company this season.
