When you report this you remember she was human: mother, daughter, sister, aunt. Her heart was bigger than the world. It really really was. She cared when most people wouldn't have. She was good. She only pursued right, no matter what. No one gave her justice.

The 27-year-old experienced a heart attack as a result of an asthma attack, according to family members. She was placed in a medically-induced coma at Woodhull Hospital where she was placed in ICU and on life support. On Thursday morning, family members were called in to say final goodbyes after the doctor declared her brain dead with a slim chance of recovery.
Erica Garner first gained notoriety in 2014 after the death of her father at the hands of New York Police Officer Daniel Pantaleo. Since then, she had become one of the most prominent activists in the Black Lives Matter movement. She appeared in a campaign commercial for Sen. Bernie Sanders during his run for the Democratic nomination in the 2016 presidential election. She also previously challenged President Barack Obama's administration and Justice Department for its investigation into father's death.
Thoughts and prayers are with her family and friends.
