Being Mary Jane star Raven Goodwin is officially a wedded woman. The actress revealed on Instagram that she married her fiancé Wiley Battle on Oct. 29, 2021, in a private destination ceremony in Santorini, Greece.
"Peaceful. Simple. It was perfect. Just us and our koúkla. 10*29*2021#thebattlesone2021," she wrote on social media.
The two were joined by their 1-year-old daughter, Riley Rosa Bell Battle, in the exclusive ceremony held at Celestia Grand Villas. The bride walked down the aisle in a custom Christian Omeshun gown, according to her Instagram post. She used a bouquet from Betty Flowers Santorini, and her hair and makeup looks were crafted by Khamilia Smith. Planned by Hera's Weddings, a Santorini-based wedding planner, the affair was captured by WedVisions Studio and IdoFilms Global.
Goodwin and Battle first met in 2016 while working on a TV series and later grew close after running into each other at the joint Morehouse and Spelman Homecoming tailgate. The wife and mother reflected on the anniversary of their meeting in a second wedding post on Instagram.
"We did it Joe! Thank God for Hbcu's and @maurachanz —I physically bumped into Wiley at #spelhouse @spelman college @morehouse1867 tailgate on 10-29-2016 and the rest is history. Cheers to the law of attraction," she wrote in the caption.
Goodwin and Battle announced they were expecting their first bundle of joy in January 2020.
"Nurturer, survivor, daughter, sister, friend & now a MOMMY. I cannot believe that it’s my turn. I’m so thankful to be carrying a healthy baby girl who’s energy has been nothing short of strength," she wrote on Instagram at the time. "I love you baby girl! To my life partner and best friend you are going to be a beautiful father seeing you and her together will heal me in more ways then you know!"
Months later, in April, Battle proposed to Goodwin during a special picnic planned for two ahead of the birth of their baby girl. Their daughter was born shortly after, on April 15, 2020.
"I've been a mommy for a week. Wow. Her soul is sooo beautiful. She was born on a Wednesday as was I. She has a head full of hair & she is sooooo stunning. She loves music, the sound of her daddy's voice, and her mamas touch," Goodwin shared on Instagram at the time. "My daughter you lack nothing, you were born WHOLE, I will make sure you always feel liberated by liberating myself. I'll always be here."
