Viola Davis has joined Jake Gyllenhaal, Paul Dano, Hugh Jackman and Melissa Leo in Dennis Villeneuve's thriller Prisoner.

Villeneuve's last work was the critically acclaimed Incendies, which I highly recommend! But it looks like Viola is in good company, and good hands.

The story (from a script penned by Aaron Guzikowski – Contraband), centers on a "small-town carpenter named Keller (Jackman) whose young daughter and her best friend are kidnapped. After the cops fail to find them, Keller takes the law into his own hands, but in the process runs up against Detective Loki (Gyllenhaal), a hot-shot cop with confidence to burn," says The Wrap.

No word on what role exactly Viola will be playing in this.

Alcon, 8:38 Productions and Madhouse Entertainment are all producing.

Ed McDonnell and John Stark will executive produce.

Production is scheduled to begin in early 2013, for a fall 2013 release, via Warner Bros.
