WNBA star A’ja Wilson is getting her flowers from LeBron James after her record-breaking performance. Shortly after Wilson scored 53 points on Tuesday to lead the Las Vegas Aces to a win against the Atlanta Dream, James went to social media praise the hoop star.

β€œMust be the πŸ‘Ÿ!!! Nah it’s definitely her game the whole way!! They do look good on her though! GO THE HELL OFF THEN SIS!!!!! πŸ‘πŸΎπŸ‘πŸΎπŸ‘πŸΎπŸ‘πŸΎπŸ‘πŸΎπŸ‘πŸΎπŸ‘πŸΎπŸ‘πŸΎ @_ajawilson22,” LeBron wrote.

According to The Athletic, Wilson tied the WNBA’s all-time single-game scoring record with her 53-point performance. She also became only the third player in the league to score at least 50 points in a game. The two-time league MVP made 16-of-23 shots from the field and converted 20-of-21 free throws. She also added seven rebounds and four block in her historic performance.

“She runs like a deer, jumps like a cat and catches as if she were Spider-Man,” Aces head coach Becky Hammon said, according to ESPN. “She is just special. Her real gift is in her humility and grace and how she handles herself and her teammates. She is a phenomenal superstar.”

The 27-year-old star praised her teammates after her record-breaking performance.

“I’m out there having fun, and I get the opportunity to play with some amazing women,” Wilson told reporters after the game. “I don’t take these moments for granted. But it wasn’t a feeling like, ‘Oh, my God!’ It was kind of just in the flow.”

“I really feel like we’re watching just a generational talent,” Aces teammate Kelsey Plum said to ESPN about Wilson’s skill. “What we’re seeing right now is historic, and it’s just beginning. This is one of the greatest players of all time.”

Wilson has scored a total of 735 points in the 2023 season. She now holds the franchise record for the most points scored in a season.
