When I first read this, I confused it with the project his twin brother Allen Hughes is developing, which we reported in June. That project (Allen’s) is called Broken City, and you can read my post announcing it HERE; this project (Albert’s) is called Motor City! Both are based on scripts that were on the Blacklist.

So, I’m sure you can see how I could have initially thought Albert’s revealed today by Twitch, was actually Allen’s.

Moving right along… the news is that Warner Bros has signed Albert Hughes on to direct Motor City, which is based on a 2009 Black List script, and is described as “a revenge film about a small time crook who is framed and sent to jail only to go after those who put him there upon release.

Most interesting about the Motor City script is that it reportedly contains only a single line of dialogue! And a studio is moving forward with this? Not that it can’t be done. In fact, I welcome the challenge of it. But it doesn’t sound like something a Hollywood studio would embrace. A film that takes place in a single location is one thing, but one with only a single line of dialogue… things that make you go hmm… I wish I could get my hands on this script (wink, wink).

And what actors are being considered to star in this? Captain America himself, Chris Evans.

Joel Silver who’s producing the film, reportedly believes in Chris Evans’ potential as a draw, and has offered him the lead.

Joel Edgerton and Jeremy Renner are also said to be in consideration.

Stay tuned…
