Aldis Hodge from TNT’s serial crime drama Leverage has joined the cast of what is described as an “eco-terrorist” thriller titled The East, which will be directed by Zal Batmanglij (his second feature film effort; his first being Sound Of My Voice, a Sundance 2011 entry that was picked up by Fox Searchlight earlier this year, though it hasn’t been released yet).

The East, which is currently shooting in Louisiana, centers around “a contract worker who infiltrates an anarchist group, known as The East, and finds herself falling for its leader.

Our man Aldis Hodge will play “,b>an ex-military member of the townspeople who is affiliated with the group.

The East already stars Ellen Page, Alexander Skarsgard, Patricia Clarkson and Brit Marling.

Expect a release sometime in 2012; but in the meantime, check out Mr Hodge on Leverage, which returns to TNT on November 27.
