A year ago, it was announced that NBC was developing a pilot for a new comedy starring and created by up-and-coming comic Jerrod Carmichael, which would be based on Carmichael’s comedy and life. It wasn’t picked up by the network, but NBC is giving Carmichael another shot, with another new pilot, which the network is fast-tracking, which is described as an comedy that follows a young couple who decide to move in together, and all the ups and downs doing so can often create.
Carmichael will star in a series that will be titled "Go Jerrod Go." And announced today, Amber Stevens-West has been cast as the female lead opposite Carmichael, who penned the script with Nick Stoller, who’ll also exec produce with Ravi Nandan.
Stevens-West is best known as Ashleigh Howard on the ABC Family series "Greek," and, most recently, as Maya in "22 Jump Street. Stevens also played the role of Mimi Marquez in the musical "Rent: Downtown L.A."
