Somehow from behind bars, Bill Cosby is still able to make terrible decisions and horrible judgment calls.
On Sunday, the incarcerated comedian-actor’s Twitter account posted the following tweet:
Hey, Hey, Hey…It’s America’s Dad…I know it’s late, but to all of the Dads… It’s an honor to be called a Father, so let’s make today a renewed oath to fulfilling our purpose —strengthening our families and communities.#HappyFathersDay#RenewedOathToOurFamily

While Cosby, who is serving a three to 10-year sentence after being convicted of drugging and sexually assaulting a woman in 2004, did not personally post the message, his spokesperson Andrew Wyatt told USA Today that the comedian wanted the tweet to go out on Father’s Day.
According to Wyatt, the tweet, which is accompanied by a 1970s video of the “Fat Albert” creator, was targeted to support the nonprofit organization, Man Up. The same messaging was sent out from Cosby’s Instagram account, using additional hashtags such as #RenewedOathToOurCommunity , #AmericasFavoriteDad, and #FarFromFinished.
“Mr. Cosby’s (message) consisted of telling these men who have been incarcerated for many years, but are up for parole soon…to…take the word “disadvantage” and remove the “dis,” and start focusing on the advantage,” he said.
Clearly, people on social media were not here for the message, and responded accordingly.

Many are drawing connections between Cosby’s inessential post and O.J. Simpson’s sudden appearance on Twitter:

Bill Cosby & OJ Simpson both are active on Twitter now… if there was ever a time for the Boondocks to give us a new season, it’s now.

Sorry, Dads. Maybe we can try for a better Father’s Day next year?
