And just like the big screen adaptation, the small screen version will feature iconic TV action stars of yesteryear (and a few current ones too), who’ll make up a whole new team of "expendables" on a mission to stop a dangerous terrorist.
A script has been ordered, with casting to follow eventually. So let the speculation begin. What 1980s iconic TV stars will be on Stallone’s short list of actors to sign up? And, in the interest of this site’s focus, what black TV action stars might be considered, and even make the cut? I’m sure, like the movies, there’ll be at least 1 black "expendable."
A name that immediately comes to mind is Mr T, who co-starred in "The A-Team.". And even though he wasn’t the star of the series, I’d even consider Avery Brooks, who had a supporting role in "Spencer for Higher." There’s also Philip Michael Thomas of "Miami Vice" fame.
Who else can you think of?
And in terms of younger black TV action stars who appeared in series in recent years, I can’t think of any.
