If you thought Marvel's Black Panther was as lit as it was going to get….think again!

The film already features a loaded cast, including Chadwick Boseman, Lupita Nyang'o, Michael B. Jordan, Danai Gurira, Forrest Whitaker and many more. Now, a major addition to the cast has been announced.

…none other than the incomparable Angela Bassett!

The actress, currently a show-stopper on American Horror Story, will portray Ramonda, the mother of Wakandan king T'Challa (Chadwick Boseman). She is referred to as Queen Mother.

In the Marvel comics, Ramonda becomes stepmother to T'Challa after his mother, N'Yami, died while giving birth to him. She is also the mother of his younger sister, Shuri. After the death of his father, T'Challa thought that his stepmother left Wakanda to be with another man, but she was in fact abducted and sexually abused by a white supremacist. When he learned the truth, T'Challa freed her and brought her back to Wakanda.

Are y'all ready? Get ready! The film will be in theaters February 2018.
