Angela Yee is getting her own radio show after leaving The Breakfast Club. The radio host first announced the news in a cryptic tweet on Tuesday.

“The breakfast club as you know it is officially over,” she tweeted.

Yee clarified her comment on Wednesday’s episode of The Breakfast Club, saying iHeart has offered her an opportunity to have her own daily, nationally syndicated show.

“I am going to be leaving The Breakfast Club,” Yee said on the radio show. “You guys obviously will continue and it will be a different iteration of The Breakfast Club.”

The radio personality added that she has been wanting to have her own show for a while.

“This is really exciting,” she said. “This is something that I’ve been waiting to do for years now, way before the pandemic.”

Fans were waiting eagerly for Yee to clarify her vague tweet.

After seeing the cryptic tweet, some fans assumed The Breakfast Club was coming to an end.

Many of Yee’s supporters are now congratulating her on the new move.

Yee expressed gratitude for the opportunity to have a unique position.

“As far as having a nationally syndicated show, somebody in my position, a woman, a Black woman, it’s a rarity,” she said. “It’s not something I take lightly.”

The radio personality also said she will remain with The Breakfast Club until all the details of her new gig are worked out.

She added that the new show will start in the fall sometime but refrained from sharing additional details.
