An Atlanta couple lost nearly 200 pounds together and are motivating others to get healthy.

Before the onset of the pandemic, Camille and Marlon Jones found it challenging to get into shape, Good Morning America reports

"We were in denial for a very long time about how far we let ourselves go," Camille, who was 205 pounds one year ago, told GMA.

When Marlon had a physical exam, he was diagnosed as pre-diabetic and had sleep apnea, which prompted the couple to change their lifestyle and get into shape.

"We've realized that working together as a team is going to be our biggest thing," Marlon, who weighed more than 470 pounds at the beginning of their renewed health journey, said, according to GMA.

Camille oversaw the couple's nutrition for their weight loss journey, and Marlon organized their workouts.

Eating healthy foods and creating fun workouts, the couple soon saw physical changes in their bodies and even found out that they enjoyed running.

"We knew we wanted to start running, but we had no idea where to go," Marlon said. "So we did our first run in a business parking lot. We ran for 2.3 miles around and around the parking lot."

Camille also took the couple's favorite meals and found ways to make them healthy, taking on the challenge of recreating Marlon's favorite snack — nachos.

The couple relied on one another to stay motivated to achieve their health goals. Since the beginning of their weight-loss undertaking, Camille has shed 40 pounds, and Marlon dropped nearly 150 pounds.

Their advice to others seeking to take charge of their health is not to doubt themselves.

"Try it before you say you can't do it," Camille said. "And most of the time, you'll find out you can."
