Ato Essandoh has joined the cast of the next installment of "Bourne" franchise which is set up at Universal Pictures.
The currently untitled film of course stars the returning Matt Damon, with new additions in Tommy Lee Jones, Alicia Vikander, Vincent Cassel and (also returning) Julia Stiles.
Paul Greengrass is directing, which is good news, from a script he co-wrote with Christopher Rouse.
No word on what role Ato has signed up to play (I just hope he lives to see the end of the film); we don’t even yet know what story this "Bourne" movie will tell, although it’s currently filming.
Essandoh’s resume is full of a lot of TV work, including parts in the BBC America series "Copper," HBO’s "Girls" and CBS’s "Elementary." He next appears in "Vinyl," the new HBO drama series from Martin Scorsese and Mick Jagger.
"Bourne Untitled" will be released some time in 2016.
Universal is having a great 2015 claiming 4 of the top 10 grossing films of this year (including the #1 film of the year in "Jurassic World"). The studio would certainly love a repeat next year.
