Former President Barack Obama is sharing words of support for a Sikh gentleman who went viral for his rainbow turban celebrating Pride Month.

"Thanks for everything you do to make this country a little more equal. Turban looks great, by the way," 44 tweeted Tuesday at Jiwandeep Kohli.

Kohli, who identifies as bisexual, first shared an image himself donning the now-famous turban on Saturday. He actually posed for the photo at San Diego Pride in 2018, per BuzzFeed. Kohli posted the picture again over the weekend to commemorate the first day of Pride Month 2019.

According to Mashable, the clinical psychology graduate student's inspiration behind the design came after seeing someone else in a rainbow turban at a previous Pride function.

"He wore a slightly different style, though, and I realized mine would lend itself to a perfect rainbow because of the number of layers," the former contestant onThe Great American Baking Show said to Mashable in an email Tuesday.

While going viral is an added bonus, Kohli says his intentions behind the turban was to promote equality and justice.

"The turban itself is a symbol of Sikh identity," Kohli told Mashable. "It's a sign to the world that I am an individual who stands for equality and justice, and that people can turn to me in times of need for help. What better way than with a Pride rainbow to also show that my values for inclusivity and egalitarianism extend beyond just religious freedom?"

Responding to the former president's tweet, Kohli expressed that was "lost for words" at Obama noticing his form of self-expression.

“I’m a fairly verbose person, but today I am lost for words,” he wrote. “Thank you for your support and the complement, Mr. Obama. If I can ever repay them with pastries, please let me know!”

Happy Pride, folks!
