Makeup is a craft, and just like all crafts, practice makes perfect. As a rookie to the makeup game, there are a few errors that I’ve had to learn from. Whether it’s finding a perfect foundation color or learning the ins and outs of highlighting, it’s always helpful to have some tips on how to make your face flawless.

Brows are one of the most essential, yet most difficult parts of doing your makeup. Most often, they’re like sisters — not twins. But every now and again, you’ll find them looking like cousins. To complete the ultimate beat face, here are a few brow tips to help you whip them into shape.

It’s all about the shape

We’ve all seen brows that look like flying birds, but I’m here to tell you, that’s a brow no-no. Go for a natural brow shape based off of how your brows grow. You want your brow shape to compliment your face, not ruin the look. You should be focused on filling them in to be even and enhanced, not a drastic change.

Choose the appropriate shade

Another way to make your brows look natural is by choosing the right color for your face. If your hair is blonde, filling in your brows with a black color might be a bit drastic. Find a shade that looks natural and stick with it.

Use concealer that compliments your complexion

Using a concealer that’s too bright can throw your look off. Go for a concealer that compliments your skin and highlights your brows without being over the top.

Spooly brushes are your friend

Spooly brushes are perfect for taming your brows, but also for finishing them up after you shade them in. You can use the spooly brush to blend the color out and give your brows a faded look toward the inner edge.
