The plan was for it to debut at the Toronto International Film Festival this fall, but that didn't happen.
It was announced this morning that
Kevin MacDonald's Bob Marley documentary (which took many years to finally be finally fully realized, after being worked on by at least 3 directors – Martin Scorsese, Jonathan Demme, and MacDonald) will make its world premiere at the Berlinale next February as one of five films selected for the Berlinale Special, which also includes a four-part documentary series Death Row by Werner Herzog.
Titled simply Marley, the documentary will be a full birth-to-death film, focusing on the life, music, death and legacy of one of the world's most popular musicians.
More Berlinale 2012 announcements coming, so stay tuned.
