With the current controversy surrounding the NFL protests, Trump's radical leadership, and the continued press towards equality for all, it is comforting to know that we have allies across the continent that understand the movement. For sports teams to display the universal unity and comprehension of what the actual protest is about, is the sort of love, support, and public image that is needed.
Hertha Berlin, the German soccer team, gave their fans a show when they took a knee on the field before their match, this past Saturday.
The Hertha Berlin players adopted the act as a message of solidarity with the NFL and tolerance for equality and fairness. They tweeted:
Hertha BSC stands for tolerance and responsibility! For a tolerant Berlin and an open-minded world, now and forevermore! #TakeAKnee #hahohe pic.twitter.com/spZvRSGVxQ— Hertha Berlin (@HerthaBSC_EN) October 14, 2017
It's amazing to see that people across the globe can understand things our own government has trouble with.
