Any member of the BeyHive knows that Beyoncé honed her unmatched stage persona in her mother Tina Knowles-Lawson‘s hair salon in her hometown of Houston. Today, fans are convinced that the 32-time Grammy winner is dropping a hair care collection after she hinted at it via an Instagram post, which was accompanied by a photo of Beyoncé seemingly testing lab samples of products and hot tools.
“How many of ya’ll knew my first job was sweeping hair in my mama’s salon? Destiny’s Child got our start performing for clients while they were getting their hair done,” the handwritten note read. “I was exposed to so many different kinds of entrepreneurial women in her salon. I saw firsthand how the ways we nurture and celebrate hair can directly impact our souls.”
The post also featured a photo of the megastar getting her braids as a child. She concluded the personal note by writing, “I watched her heal and be of service to so many women. Having learned so much on my hair journey I’ve always dreamed of carrying on her legacy. I can’t wait for you to experience what I’ve been creating.”
The unofficial announcement comes as Mrs. Carter is in the middle of her Renaissance World Tour, which spans 40 cities (and who knows how many more shows will be added between now and late September). Throughout the years, Beyoncé has turned heads on and off the stage with a myriad of enviable hairstyles, from long, blonde, and sleek to more Afrocentric looks, including box braids, Bantu knots, and braided crowns.
