Following up with yesterday's news that Beyoncé dropped out of Clint Eastwood's A Star Is Born remake, citing a jam-packed schedule… the singer/actress released a statement to The Hollywood Reporter regarding her exit, stating:

"I was looking forward to the production of A Star Is Born and the opportunity to work with Clint Eastwood. For months we tried to coordinate our schedules to bring this remake to life, but it was just not possible. Hopefully in the future we will get a chance to work together. "

You'll recall Sergio's September post in which Eastwood, responding in an interview about Beyoncé's involvement in the project, stated: "She's great. I don't know if she's available, but we've talked a little bit."

Maybe a sign of what was eventually to come, as reported last night.

Warner Bros. had no comment, with the project still searching for its male lead, in what has been a casting carousel that's gone on for some time – Leonardo DiCaprio, Tom Cruise,Christian Bale, Johnny Depp and, most recently, Bradley Cooper.

So what's on Beyoncé's "jam-packed" slate that we should be aware of?

In addition to work on a new album… there was the August report that said Ms Knowles just might make her feature film directorial debut, with a documentary that's being described as a mix of music and personal study, blending concert footage with confessional interviews.

Ms Knowles and her reps were said to have been shopping a non-fiction film to Hollywood studios (showing 20 minutes of footage) that will center on her life and career that she will not only star in of course, but will also direct and produce.

While it certainly won't be the first time that Ms Knowles is the subject of a documentary film, it will be the first time that she's the subject of a documentary film directed by her. And with the eventful life she's led in the last few years, baby, husband, split from her father, top-selling albums and singles, Grammy Awards, international popularity, and more, she certainly has plenty to talk about.

But no movement on that project yet, as far as we know.

Also, there was early September's revelation from former Executive Vice President of Tyler Perry Studios, Roger Bobb, who left the company earlier this year to start his own film production company called Bobcat Films, and made his feature film directorial debut with a project titled Raising Izzie – a film that premiered on the GMC (Gospel Music Channel) in July.

Bobb revealed in an interview with Humor Mill TV, that he had a few projects in the pipeline, including, as he said, "a remake of a very popular black love story," although he doesn't share what that "very popular black love story" is.

The first question we had was,of course, what "very popular black love story" Bobb was referring to. We figured that it might be the Mahogany remake that we alerted you to about a week prior, which Suzanne de Passe optioned the rights to, and is producing via her de Pass-Jones Entertainment production company. No director was attached to the project when we first wrote about it, so it could very well be that Roger Bobb is their guy. 

And in the same interview, the interviewer, Frank Holder, who seemed to be in-the-know about the project, let it slip that he had a "funny feeling it [the remake] has something to do with Beyoncé and…" 

He didn't finish his sentence, instead saying that they'll get back to it later in the interview, but they never did. 

So, if Frank knows something about the project, and he's right about the Beyoncé attachment to whatever it is, what could the film be? We still think it comes down to Mahogany and Claudine. Although if it's Beyoncé, then one might automatically expect there to be some singing, or a musical.

But that's all we have currently on tap for Ms Knowles. Of course, she's a relatively new mother as well.
