According to The State, Big Boi and André 3000 became the first hip-hop artists to win a Grammy for album of the year when they took the award for their 2003 release Speakerboxxx/The Love Below. The record sold more than 25 million copies.
Big Boi is currently developing a TV series inspired by his own recording studio, known as The Dungeon, Deadline reported. The untitled series, produced in partnership with Trailblazer Studios, will consist of Big Boi mentoring musicians and working with them to transform basements, attics, garages, bedrooms and offices into professionally equipped recording spaces.
André 3000 was recently spotted in Portland while shooting a movie, Willamette Week reported. An Instagram user saw the artist as he was wearing a mask and holding his signature flute while in a park.
"I went to an open mic event at a park and saw someone with a unique looking double flute. I commented on how cool it looked and chatted with this super nice, chill dude for a minute before going to sit in the grass," Summer Hatfield wrote. "It wasn’t until after I’d sat that someone whispered to me 'you know who that is right?' It was Andre 3000!!! He stayed and hung out for the entire show and cheered for every person who performed."
As Blavity previously reported, the two Outkast members reunited in 2019 to celebrate the high school graduation of Cross Patton, Big Boi’s son.
